The repugnance between reality and paragon has always been there and will always be. It is so, because defining apotheosis is inconceivable. As Aristotle once said in his law of non-contradiction,” One cannot say of something that it is and that it is not in the same respect and at the same time.” But self-realisation of the same is inevitable. It is very important to have a clear view of your métier’s beau idéal in your mind, and which obviously should not come from borrowed perceptions and definitions nor it is to be shared with hoi polloi. This is so, because it will help you plant a contiguity between ‘what you want’ and ‘what you are doing’.
It need not mean you have to make your passion your profession, though the reverse if achieved would be called an added advantage, but what is needed is to work for your cacoethes for which your sub-conscious cajoles your conscious. It means sticking to that one thing for which you think you are cut-out for.
It is perfectly fine that people are working for a lifestyle, stability factor or to win the rat-race, instead of achieving acme in oeuvre.People are enrolling into courses to become architects or engineers instead of studying architecture or engineering. In a system where reproduction is given weightage over innovation, personality over character, packaging over product, this is quite understandable. But it should not make you give it up.
Choose your way out. Try to stike a balance. Find some time out . Walk on the median .These are not just statements, instead they are the key to your ‘matrix’ world where you will be given a chance to play ‘Neo’ for some time.
All of the above literature bespeaks just one thing, don’t let a doctor kill a photographer inside you , don’t let an engineer kill the writer in you or an architect a dancer in you.
But when this Photograher clicks, he should click not just to show how things are, but to show how things can be,he should capture the beauty of the minutest particle of nature and show to us how much beauty we overlook in every fraction of a second. A writer should not just write to bring smiles or tears but he should be able to hypnotise the soul of its reader and motivate him to work, behave and live to make this planet a better place. A dancer should dance as if no ones watching her, she should create a sight in which people can see the emotions and thoughts taking human forms instead of body striking poses. This is the only religion I know about and this is the only form of worship.
And if you really want to achieve this state you should never make your passion your profession unless you are ready to be another 'Howard Roark'.
